North Central Regional Center for Rural Development

The North Central Regional Center for Rural Development strengthens the ability of the land-grant university system to execute its rural development mission.

Located at Michigan State University, the North Central Center conducts regular site visits to states in the region to identify major themes for its future work. Four major themes are:

  • Innovation Diffusion for Rural Development
  • Sustainable Communities
  • Leadership Development
  • Entrepreneurial Communities

The NCRCRD will work collaboratively with land-grant universities and other partners to develop teams to refine and implement these themes. The NCRCRD will provide seed funds and logistical support for research and outreach activities related to the themes. For an expanded definition of each theme go to: http://ncrcrd.msu.edu/ncrcrd/what_we_do
