North Central Regional Center for Rural Development

The North Central Regional Center for Rural Development strengthens the ability of the land-grant university system to execute its rural development mission.

Recently relocated to Michigan State University, the North Central Center has conducted site visits to states in the region and identified four major themes that emerged from the conversations and other feedback:

  • Innovation Diffusion for Rural Development
  • Sustainable Communities
  • Leadership Development
  • Entrepreneurial Communities

Over the next two years the NCRCRD will work collaboratively with land-grant universities and other partners to develop teams to refine and implement these themes. The NCRCRD will provide seed funds and logistical support for research and outreach activities related to the themes.
